The rear end. driveshaft assembly, and exhaust all has to be removed in order to replace the clutch. If you are thinking about upgrading any of those parts, you might think about doing them at the same time. I wanted to do gears too, but the headers and clutch drained my bank account enough already.
I do a lot of parts changing on my car myself. However, I leave the heavy stuff to the dealer. I don't really want to bust out with the cash for the gears now, but if I can avoid paying the labor charge, I am going to have to bite the bullet and get them.
Now to determine whether to go with 3.90s or 4.10s - think I will post a thread asking for advice.
I understand that dealers call for 9 hours of labor for this job. After finding out all it entailed I will be taking it to a shop and let them do it. I finished my clutch off this past fall\winter so will be looking into the Cartek\Z06 combo. Good luck with the rest of the install. Let us know how it turns out.
