Default Rear quarter panel options

So......heard there is a possibility of purchasing a pre-painted replacement panel to make life easier .......and less expensive....hopefully.

Wife smunched into my Vette last night but fortunately the damage is limited to only the panel.....got lucky.

Any recommendations from here as to a resource for a good pre painted panel?

Thanks in advance.

Well.....couldn't find how to delete the thread. Mods, please delete if you can.

After talking to a great body/paint man, I'm just going to take it to a shop he recommended and let them figure it out since insurance will pay.......but not mine.

In case you find you need a replacement, painted quarters are usually very common on eBay.

Thanks. This one is in way better shape than one of them I found. Taking the car to a recommended shop today for estimate/opinion. Thanks again.

When i went in for a wreck that wasnt my fault in 2009 for a 98z28 their insurance company wanted to buy used parts at the junk yard to have painted to match the vehicle. At that point i had been to pick n pull and most parts were trash compared to the condition of my 98 z28 that crunched a hood, headlight and scuffed the mint bumper but didnt hit the radiator support. I took the 1900$ and found a 75$ painted black hood and 30$ replacement headlight. Curious how this works out if they offer to buy new parts or used lol.

Well, the shop I went to was recommended by my former step-son-in-law who was a fantastic paint guy for many years. They said they wouldn't use any "aftermarket" parts, only OEM and seemed to be leaning toward replacement than fixing the existing panel. It was just a preliminary estimate at $3200. They can't get it in until May though.......oh well, hopefully worth the wait. The claim though has been approved.....it was my wife that backed into it with her Edge.....argghhhh.....
