C5 steering recall

Heard that Chevy was going to put out a recall concerning steering column lockup-- I know that this has been talked about in the past - any new news?

It was put out in July 00 (or so). Take your car in to the dealership for the free fix.

Any A4 cars involved...I know that 1997-2001 are in the notice but I thought it was M6 cars.... :crazy: :yesnod: :chevy :flag :thumbs: :steering:

I bought my mn6 coupe used and I do no think it was fixed. Will the dealer still fix it under the recall?

Have a dealer service department run your VIN and they can tell you if it has been fixed under the recall. If you call falls in the VIN# range the dealer will install the fix.

...and if your car is NOT in the VIN range, forget about GM doing anything before it locks.
