Just bought an LS-1 out of a 97 Vette, everyone is calling me crazy, but I think I want to put it into the 85 Vette that I allready have that is - an engine.
Tips, tricks, suggestions???
Do an archive search on TracerX... he is a forum member who frequents (or at least used to) the C4 Sections and has done it with very encouraging results :)

With time and money almost anything can be done. With time and a lot less money you could have a modified LT-1 that would be equal to or better than a stock LS1.
SoSlo, I saw this done with one car that ran at Englishtown and the results were pretty good. If I remember correctly, the only real problem with the install was the headers. HOWEVER, the PCM and electronics drove the guy crazy for a year, and he finally gave up. Good luck with your endeavor.
As Bill said, page TracerX. He is a friend of mine with a pretty successful install of an LS1 in a C4. :) :) Headers are not really a problem. I believe that the F-body headers fit well.
The only thing I will suggest is, use an F-body LS1. The C5 LS1 is going to give you problems when it comes to fly by wire and BCM, CCM stuff.
