I've run Bilsteins on other cars and been pleased with them.
However, I'd be interested in any comments from anyone who has opted for the "standard" Bilstein, as opposed to the "sport," which seems to be a pretty significant upgrade in stiffness from all accounts. Might the standard be better than C-5 base, but not as harsh as the sport?
A rather ambiquous question, I realize, but I'm interested in impressions of the "standard" shock, if available. Many thanks in advance. :yesnod:
Re: Bilstein "regular" shock, compared to "sport?" (Avanti)
I installed the standard Bilstein shock and they stiffened up the ride significantly vs. stock. Plenty firm for me but I don't race or autocross - just daily driver.
Re: Bilstein "regular" shock, compared to "sport?" (mbtc5vette)
I never have the standard one before but just installed the sport version (my car was lowered with longer bolts and cutting bushing)...it's much stiffer than stock but i like them. This is my daily driver car too.

Doesn't Bilstein make the shocks for GM for the C5 ?? Thats what my Gm Tech told me before install, but the Sports have quite a larger body and are definitely more tight. Could the regulars just be factory replacement ??

I've heard that Sachs makes the OEM shocks, not Bilstein. The Bilstein regulars are definitely *not* just factory replacements - they also have a much larger body and are firmer than stock. The difference is obvious when you see them side by side.
