Does anyone know if there is a difference between the electric motors on a memory seat vs. non memory? I have the correct harness and control module for memory seat just curious if I need to get motors from another memory equipped seat. I am converting a pair of standard non memory seats to sport seats with memory.
There is an encoder with a three prong connector on the back of the motor used for the memory function. I did a quick search and it looks like non-memory seat motors don't have the encoder but I can't say for sure as there might be differences through the years. Post a picture of what you've got and the year.
Thinking about this some more, if you trying to put memory seats into a car that did not have the memory option I believe you will also have to re-program the BCM to get it to work correctly

Thank you for the response! I think you have answered my question as I have bought a trashed 99 seat track with memory and it still has the motors on it. I am just going to transfer those over and not risk the non memory ones to work. I also have a 99.
