Default 99 coolent level sensor update

I have a 99 that has gone thru 3 radiator coolent tanks because of leaks. I purchased an aluminum aftermarket tank. It did not come with a place for a low coolent sensor. Is this considered a pressurized system and can I have a sensor installed in tank?

3 coolant tanks? I would say you have something else going on with the car. Try to diagnose that first. One is acceptable, 2 is a crowd, 3 means your car is the problem.

I purchased the later 01+ tank that doesnt have a sensor but has the same molding as the 97-00 and the old float will fit for my 99 it was on sale from amazon for 63$

Free fix. Later C5s don't have a coolant level sensor. You can jam a paperclip in the end of the connector to complete the circuit and never worry about the dash code again.

Hey Justin, is that a repop tank, or OEM?

It was an oem ac delco they are usually 89$+ but at the time amazon had it on sale for 63$ so i grabbed one real quick for my 99 tank was brittle and cracked. Someone told me the z06 didnt have a low coolant sensor but after looking MY ORIGINAL FLOAT SENSOR SLIDE RIGHT UP INTO THE NEW STYLE TANK its the same molding i believe but without the sensor. Its the one on amazon that shows just the topside of tank but is indeed the whole tank. I think theyre all oem unless there is replica stock tanks being made? But yes i went ahead and cut the float sensor connector and straight wired it like a z06 so it wouldnt read low coolant level. I messed up there i still have the connector can rebutt connector it and should work with the factory 99 float. I had a thread last year about this someone told me the new tanks didnt have a float sensor but forgot to tell me the original float would install lol.

I was going to do the paperclip mode but figured the new ones didnt have a low coolant light so upgraded to new style z06.
