Noisy half shaft

Default Noisy half shaft
About a week ago I started hearing a clicking sound at low speeds in the RR area. Put the car on jack stands and started poking around. When I move the LR wheel slightly forward and back, I can clearly hear the noise in the RR half shaft. It knocks with each change of direction while moving the LR wheel. Should I suspect bad half shaft joints? I checked the torque on the axle nut. It’s good.

is there any rust particles around the nut/hub ?? may seem tight, I would back the nut off, clean and re-torque ??

Thanks Paul. The nut and threads both look good. But I’ll give it a try. I’ll grease the splines also.

wheel is also tight right ???? always could be a bad half shaft, I have not had any issues with them, that said doesn't mean a lot, LOL

Yes sir, lug nuts all torqued. It really sounds like a bad CV joint. I mean after all, they are 22 years old. 🤣
