I just bought a 2002 ragtop and see where most of y'all are fans of the Techron fuel additive. I've always used Marvel's Mystery Oil and Lucas ethanol treatment additives in the 75 but that's a whole different motor. The 02 only has 27000 on it and was curious how often do you use it? I've heard every 3000 to every 12000 miles.
Most of the users of Techron are doing it to fix a gauge issue within the 2 fuel tanks and not a for the engine. Me, after dumping what seems like gallons of Techron and using Shell, my fuel gauge still goes wacky at fill up.

Ouch, luckily my fuel gauge is good. I was primarily looking to keep the injectors clean. I try to hit Costco for fuel. Premium is a good bit cheaper and I've heard is good quality gas.

hahahahaha! I’ve spent so much money on Techron I could have replaced both fuel tanks with all new senders. The stuff works to maybeeee cure a small problem. But despite the positive reviews, my experience is that Techron doesn’t do anything for gas gauge issues.
Techron works for me on the 04. However, I think there is a point at which you will have to drop the passenger tank and replace the sender if you want to know how much fuel you have. Techron is a band aid and prolongs the sender's life but doesn't actually fix anything.
