Hey guys, y’all been a wealth of info for a new corvette guy. New question: Is there a way to change out the radio to a Bluetooth unit so I can use my iPhone for music and phone? If so what do you suggest as a good replacement unit? Thanks again. Anniversary edition
I looked into adding an “aux” port to the radio myself, paying someone to do it, or buying a radio with either the aux port or Bluetooth installed by someone and elected to go with this instead for a few reasons. You can find instructions on how to add an aux port to your radio and do it yourself. I also found a guy who could add the aux input to your radio for you. And i found a few radios on eBay that had it or the Bluetooth added.
I ended up going with this product as it doesn’t involve opening up or modifying the radio in anyway, i’m not crazy of having an aux port in the radio and hanging cords or Bluetooth receivers off it. it simply plugs into the wiring harness, and i like the added USB charging port it includes. And i couldn’t beat the price versus buying a radio modified to include the aux or blue tooth.
From what i can tell, all of these methods simply interrupt the signal from the remote CD changer for the Bluetooth connected streaming service you use.
This company also offers another product that also includes hands free calling. It was a lot more expensive and i didn’t care for all of the add on type accessories
Good luck in your search and let me know what you decide.
I went with the Metra double Din replacement bezel, https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120DP3...tte-Black.html and a Sony AX5500. Bluetooth, android auto, touchscreen. I like the Metra as it made the ash tray area more usable and got rid of the cup holder door (Not sure why that was ever a good idea). and the ash tray and door. The 12 volt outlet screws to the bezel and you get a handy storage shelf. One more option for you.
Turk, can’t see any of this dash setup as a good idea. Will look into your idea but I have the Anniversary Edition which is shale color inside. I may have to paint the part first but thanks for your suggestion.
I did see this one, and either would do the trick. I have an 04 Le Mans so I had to get a rattle can to finish up. Looks fine and again, I just prefer the Metra layout.
Hi. Nice looking car. My factory radio crapped out. I just went the el cheapo route. Used the PAC Roem Vet1 to interface with stock speakers. Works great. Bluetooth with iPhone … music, make and receive hands free calls, etc. 🍻

I still listen to cd’s but often stream using a similar devise. Sounds good consider it transmits the stereo signal via FM on a blank channel you select. Paid 16 usd and been working for years. Keeps the dash stock for whatever that’s worth.
