Default Front Skid Plate Replacement

Looking to replace front skid plate. GM Direct wants around $600 dollars for one. Anyone know of an alternative that is cheaper or one that may cost as much but is better?

Here is the part (price as of April 10, 2022)

So there are two kinds of aftermarkets a steel version and an aluminum version. I’ve heard bad things about the aluminum version so I went with the steel version.

A lot of companies sell the steel which is made in China and is all the same. I installed this last year and it fit perfectly with no issues. It also comes with the speed nuts already installed.

I’ll do a quick search and see if I can find who’s selling it the cheapest these days. Everyone has different prices for the same thing.

I got mine from ZIP, I bought the aluminum version $360, quality heavy aluminum tubing and the brackets are completely tig welded. Unlike the steel versions which are just tack welded. It fit perfectly.

you sure you didn’t get the steel version? The aluminum version is like $130.

skid

No I bought the aluminum skid. I don't know where you saw one for 130. ZIP has the steel version for 180. But like I said it is lighter gage steel and the brackets are just tacked on.

Check out google. Aluminum is $130. They all come from the same Chinese manufacturer.
