Default Transmission Work in Phoenix

Hello old friends and those whom I have not yet met,

I believe I need a new transmission. Last week, smoke came billowing from under my hood, so I moved from the left lane of a 5-lane highway, doing about 75, and pulled over. If looks like my tranny cooler, or some line to it, broke. There was fluid splashed all under my hood, but my oil level was good, I didn't have any temperature concerns, and fluid continued to puddle near the front passenger wheel.

I switched my 3.15 gears for 3.42 gears when I had about 2k miles on the car back in 2000. The car now has about 68k miles on her.

If the tranny is bad, I may choose to put the 3.15 gears back in and have the car reprogrammed for that change. I'm not sure whether or not a dealer would even entertain that idea.

Any recommendations for a shop that can help with this? I used to use Xtreme Motorsports, but I think they have closed up shop.

Thanks in advance...

Jim

I used to go to xtreme way back in the day too. One of the early corvette shops to go to.

Id take the car to classic gold in Tempe. Have them diagnose it. And if you need a new trans do a core exchange with RPM. they are the best in the business.
