10K miles on the engine since rebuild...heads, cam, pistons etc.
The first time it happened was at 100 miles with racing plugs originally...
They then replace the plugs with stock and the car had been running
perfectly.... until last night....
Does that seem normal with a H/C setup?
Is there a better/hotter plug?
:seeya
...or just put in the next hotter heat range, and if they melt you'll know they weren't right! :yesnod: But, seriously--unless you are running under serious load for longer periods you may find a hypo engine needs a warmer STREET plug. Don't forget to change to a colder one for competition, though. I've raced engines that had to be warmed up with a "hot" plug and cold ones swapped in before competing.
BTW, 10K on plugs in a competition engine is not bad, at all.
OK...
After reading several articles here and there...sounds like the NGK TR6
plug is what I should be using....
The Question is "what gap should I start at?"...
Dang....No problem changing out the plugs....butttt
After removing all the plugs #3 was fouled really bad and Thought I had it made...After installing the TR6 the engine was still running like SHi#
So off I go to get a set of stock plugs gap @ .055...installed and the engine still runs bad. By this time changing the plugs is a snap
Let it run for a few min. and pulled #3 and it was soaked...
Guess which valve spring i'm using?
I had a 941 break before and afraid thats what it is this time also...
