SO I am trying (unsuccessfully) to disconnect what I believe is the flasher harness in my 2002. The directions say it is right under the ignition key switch. So there is two bundles of wires that appear to be part of the ignition. Multi colored but same colors as wires in the directions. Directions say SIMPLY (what a joke) unplug the harness and replace with hyperflash harness. Well, I have been fighting the under dash flasher(?) harness for an hour and can't get it unplugged. I quit before I broke something and am asking: What is the the trick to get the damn harness unplugged? Thanks for any assistance., Am now going to tackle replacing the front turn signal bulbs (more frustration) and will check back here later.
It's the lone wire that doesn't lead to the ignition just under it. You should be able to identify it by the connector. You can actually access it from the right side gap of the footwell cover without actually taking the cover off if you really try/fish around with a hook. I didn't know the footwell cover had screws underneath until I finally got it off later during my speaker install and I managed to pop the wire out and install the hyperflash and then stuff it back in because I was so frustrated with the footwell cover.
As for getting GM electric **** disconnected people use a screwdriver to pry up the tab(s) and then you pull with pliers if necessary, use a wigling motion. I like a pocket knife for the tabs because you can get under them easier, just wear gloves so you don't filet a finger. Some of the GM connectors have lock tabs too.. little blue/purple plastic bits you pull out with pliers before you do the tabs.

Thanks for the vids and advice. They make it look so easy... I'll fight with it again later
Just did this a few weeks ago, and it shouldn't be too bad. Make sure you have a good flashlight that gives you a really good look at the plastic tab holding the connectors together, so you can manipulate it correctly to release it.
After mangling the little blue and grey keepers to get them out and FINALLY getting the harness unplugged (both of them, the white and black ones, not to mention skinning one knuckle so far) I come to find out that the replacement harness won't plug into anything. WTF!!! For one thing, the stock plugs and not the same size as the replacement and the locking tabs are on the back (facing froward) on the stock plugs and are on the sides of the replacement. I think I got the harness from Corvette central but they only show one harness on their website. Anyone know what the hell is going on here?
Cannot figure out how to send photos. Hve phone plugged into computer and file names but that's as far as my luddite self can get. I could send them to your email if you pm me with it..
