Default Tail Light Issue

I installed new rear side marker LED's and Tail light LED's. All the lights light up except the passenger side inner tail light. I've tried moving all the lights around and flipping the LED's around in case it was a polarity issue but they all work except for whatever bulb is placed in the inner passenger side tail light. The only thing I've not done is install the hyperflash harness, but from what I understand that should only affect the flash rate when they are blinking, not the actual function of them working or not. Any ideas?

The hyper flash harness shouldn't make any difference. Did you check the inside of the socket and make sure all the contacts are there? Maybe one's out of place?

Yes, check the socket. Probably a bad contact in it. Also inspect the wires for that socket to where it connects with the harness, could have a damaged wire there.

Well the weird thing is that when I plug the old halogen bulb back into the socket it lights up. It's only when plugging in the LED that it doesn't work anymore.

^try flipping over the LED bulb.

Also check that the metal pins on the LED bulb are not too shallow and therefore not coming into contact with the metal on the socket.

This has happened to me before on some LED bulbs in my old DRL housings. They wouldn't come on and it puzzled me until I figured this out. Take a small flathead and try to raise the metal pins out a bit and reseat the bulbs.

I've tried flipping over the bulb. Nothing. All the bulbs I have work, it's only when I plug one into that socket that they don't work, but a halogen will work just fine. Maybe the prongs inside the socket need to be adjusted?

Yes they all work. Every LED bulb I have works. It's only when you plug any of them into that specific socket (passenger inner tail light) that it doesn't work. None of the LED's work in that socket. But they all work I. Any of the other sockets. That's why I'm getting confused here. That same socket works when you plug a halogen bulb in but the LED won't light up in that socket.

I here where ur coming from but leds r funny. U should get MMV and check the the wires behind the socket that's not working with led in it. and see what the reading r.

Just trying to throw some suggestions out there.

There's guys on here that r way more knowledgeable except GRINDER 11.

I'd still say try to raise the bulb pins a bit on the base to make sure they're contacting the socket pins since they're all probably from the same LED manufacturer they could all be too shallow for that particular socket

Likewise just trying to throw some suggestions out there

You sure have an unusual problem there. I have dimmable LEDs in a dining fixture. But the dimmable range is so much different than incandescent lights, may as well not be dimmable. Helga is right about them being fussy.....damn feminine LEDs!!! Helga, as for me not knowing much, the Easter Bunny is coming to repo your basket......
