I have a 2001 C5 and recently left it for four weeks whilst I was away. Everything is fine on return except that now whenever I start the car, whatever had been playing on the stereo last, it always goes to CD 10 Track 10. Similarly, it now defaults to Seat Memory 2 instead of 1 as it always used to.
Someone down the board a bit had a similar (but not exactly the same) problem and the concensus of opinion seemed to be that it was a battery related issue, but mine is consistently reading 14+ volts, so I doubt it's that. Any ideas anyone please ?
Try using the other key. I wouldn't swear to it but I think that most think that the remote key fob's are set to driver #1 and driver #2, but I think it is actually the keys that are different. I beleive that if you try the other key to start the car, all will be normal. Good luck and hapy new year from Canada.

The 14+ volts indicates that the charging system output. You need to check the voltage without the car running. When my old battery read under 11.0 volts the "average mpg" would reset to zero. I got a new Optima Red Top and everything is fine.
