I'm seeking tips in fact. I already had the rear suspension off the car to go bsck in with the new 6060. I just replaced all the bushings with delrin and am about to replace the ball joints as well.
The hubs will go tomorrow. But its the rear hubs with the giant 34mm nut which look like I'm going to have to kill myself to break loose while not being in the car.
Pointers? Tips? I'm highly considering bringing this job to a local shop unless it's not as tough as it appears to be.
Impact wrench made short work of breaking those nuts loose!. Two ball joints were not so easy to break loose without hurting them.
Next time I will replace them with better ball joints.
It is probably a full days work alone - if you have all the proper tools.
At least I already have it all broken down. I'm leery of the impact wrench striooing threads but maybe I dont need to be.
Still. Hesring what you said tempts me to hit a shop for the work. I dont mind dumping a hundred bucks to avoid the headache if that's what its going to be.

I dont know how much room u have but a 10' extension on the wreach always worked for me.
The nuts on my car came off easy with a breaker bar. The hard part was pressing the axles out of the hubs, they had rusted solid. Took a year of monthly nut buster spraying to get them to move.

Sorry guys.... I went with my buddy's impact gun on the compressor and zipped them right off and back on again. LOL
FYI - for anyone not already aware, short of buying $2k aftermarket axles the C5 pieces are the better ones available for C5s and C6s for the money. I've already got a spare set in case I get more traction than I anticipate with the 402/blower combination.
