Hello, I’m having a strange problem with my reverse lights, fuse.
Now I know C5 guru’s are going to say the reverse lights only have a relay, and you are right. Engine bay reverse relay is fine and working properly. The interior fuse box has a fuse for the brake-transmission shift interlock, #21. It keeps blowing a fuse only when I shift into reverse and my reverse lights don’t work. I have a manual transmission, and just discovered this while putting in a back up camera and Joying radio system.
I have suspected my reverse lights have been out for some time, since I never saw any white glow when close to the garage or anything else late at night when reversing. I just never drive her enough to care. So that is why I do not think it was any electrical handy work in this project that is cashiering this either.
I tested the relay, it works; I swapped the fuse with a slightly larger one, just to check, and it blew that as well. Wondering if anyone has had this happen before and possible what may be the problem?
