I have a 2000 C5 that I've had since new. When the key fobs didn't work, I changed the batteries, but that didn't do it. I ended up with 3 fobs (2 new), but all have the same issues (so it's not the fobs).
The problem: I can reprogram them and they'll work fine, but not for long. I can hold down the lock and unlock keys for about 7 seconds and that fob will work, for a while.
So, every time I use the car, which isn't every day, I have to hold those keys until the horn sounds and it's OK for the rest of the day.
Anyone ever experienced this? Do we have a fix for this?
Over the past year, my key fob worked for a while then did not. Then back working. I opened it up and found the two connections from the battery hold to the board were not solid. re-soldered them and all is well, so far.
