Help! I have a static type noise coming from the driver’s side inside the instrument panel. Reminds me of a blown speaker type noise, but the speakers are working fine. All of the power accessories are working as they should and it doesn’t seem to be draining the battery. Any body experience this with their 2000 C5? Sometimes the presets don’t work when I first put the key in, if that helps. Thanks all in advance for any advice you can give.
Thanks for responding. Noise appears with the door closed, key doesn’t have to be in the ignition. It happens whether it’s in or out, also when the car is running or not.
Interesting that when I got in it after work, it didn’t make the noise and when I put the key in the ignition, my preset seat and steering wheel positions activated like they should. It didn’t this morning when I left for work and the noise continued all of my 20 minute drive. Got out the owners manual and was going to look into pulling a fuse.
