2004 CE Convertible
I replaced brake pads yesterday. There was no problem. It’s just been a long time and lots of miles. The old pads appeared about 50% worn. Old and new pads are both Wagner Semi Metallic on original stock rotors. I also drained the fluid reservoir and added new. I did not flush the lines or calipers.
Now the pedal is noticeably higher and firmer.
I’m not complaining just wondering why that would be. 🍻
Probably has something to do with the new pads which are thicker than the old worn pads and when you compressed the pistons, etc. I would do a full bleed though.
As STRMLNE said, you basically closed the gap that was left by the old pads to the rotor. Emptying and filling the reservoir ain’t gonna do much. You need to bleed the system.
