Hi there. I bought a C5 2001 Corvette Convertible LS1. I left it parked in front of my place while going on vacation. I came back to water pooling on the passenger's side floor near the front of the floor and the car would not start. I installed a new battery (Optima Red Top) and the car would not start. There is power though. The message stated on the dash reads "Reduced Engine Power". I am not sure how I get the car started now. I have disconnected the battery in the meantime. I have already purchased the battery & had it load tested.
Is there someone out there that can give me instructions on how to get my car started? It is parked on the street in front of my house. Does anyone know about the water pooling on the passenger's side floor? How to fix this issue?
Since you have water pulling in the passenger side floor it's a safe bet that the BCM has gotten wet, I would remove it and blow dry it out. When you say it's not starting do you mean it cranks over but doesn't start or it doesn't crank over at all. Lastly what is the Security light doing it should be off when you turn the key to the start position.
Thanks for responding. The car will start (1 to 2 secs) and then die. The security light is off. On the last attempt to start the car did not do anything no intermittent start, no clicking. All electrical is working fine though

I suspect your windshield cowl drain “utters” are clogged causing the pooling water so the car not starting is an effect and not the cause…get that fixed first …as was mentioned try to dry out the BCM…it may be toast !!…water and electronics are not a good combo !!
