Any body out there been bit yet by the recent change in the exhaust gas standards implemented this pass January in Colorado, my 99 FRC has failed it's E-test twice (high HC) it is built with a comp Cam (228/236 duration, 588/601 Lift, 113 LSA), Kooks headers (W/cats), CAI ,stock heads, intake and throttle body. I have recently had the tune redone (actually made the HC worse) I am thinking the cam choice is my issue....
The standards changed from 1.22 HC GPM to 0.800 on Jan 1 2022, all of my previous tests (5) shows an average of 1.0 to 1.1 and would pass the previous standards
What say you..?
Get a tune that makes no power and barely runs but can get you do the scammer, I mean sniffer, and try to pass. I've also heard you can pass emissions in your hot rod buy running the absolute ***** off it and get the cats hotter than the sun and immediately test. I don't think that will solve your high HC issue though. Vote with your feet lots of places don't have this nonsense like my area and we are doing just fine.

Reason: Spelling
I'm sure it's not apples to apples. But my car is registered in one of the few Wisconsin counties that have emissions.
same deal, heads, cam, headers, unknown exhaust.
I took some advice from ages ago. I took it on a relatively hard drive for about an hour and a half.
Pulled into emissions and viola! Passed.
I think the tester and myself were a little surprised.
however, no sniffer. Just an OBD hookup.
