It may have to do with the block changes that occured in 01. They switched from the LS1 to the LS6 block.

I believe they are all replaced with the same number now. The early pumps had a bolt on pulley but thats the only difference I have seen. Go to gmpartdirect and plug your numbers in, they will probably be replaced with the same number.
