Ok, doing some research on this forum and such. One can tap into the pink wire from the brake switch, and the grey wire goes to the #35 port on the blue connector at the pcm.
Hopefully this will help someone else in the future.
Thanks for the input.
4 years later, this is still super helpful.
Did you ever end up getting this to work?
Edit: I see on another post you said this:

Sorry to be back here again lol. I've gotten to the step of wiring into the pcm for this switch. Looking at the blue pcm connector, I don't have a wire or pin for that terminal. What did you do about that? Did you pull one from a different spot or something?
Im working on this tonight, so I think what Ill try is pulling out pin 17 circuit 1225, which is the "Transmission Range Signal B (Automatic Transmission Only)" on the pcm and "Transmission Pressure Switch Signal" on C144. C144 I believe is the unused connector left unplugged.

I had ordered the pins that are used in the pcm, and also a the right crimper for then as well.
Best of luck!
I ended up cannibalizing my old harness to get the pcm pin. The 20 pin connectors use the same one.
Do you have a copy of your tune? I know we have different years of cars, but I want to compare the two, as my throttle is cutting out and I suspect it might be from that.
My theory with the tune is that some remaining automatic features are still applying like torque management.

I am far from stock, it wouldn't even be worth sending to you. I do have a guy that has quite a following, and many years of tunning. You can find him on Facebook under the name James Brewer. Pricing is very hard to beat, his ability with HP Tuners is very well known. I think you would benefit a lot of you reach out to him.

Yes, I think that's fine. I've got some extensive mods as well. All I want to see is just the transmission. In theory, it should be identical between our cars.
If you're not willing to share that's fine. I have a friend with an 04 m6 that I can grab the tune file from next week.
