Brakes clunk
installed two piece front rotors on my C5 track car, 2001 Z06, with about 30,000 track miles. Now I have a pronounced clunk when applying brakes. at highway , track , and parking lot speeds. At the track, the car stops like a dog on the end of its chain, but I am worried about the clunk of engagement. Will something break? The floater pins are well lubricated and I can't see any signs of wear after wiping them clean, and re-lubing. When i jostle the caliper at rest, on the jack stands with the rotor secured by two lug nuts, I can make the caliper wiggle a tiny bit. I thought it would be rock solid. Going to put in new floating pins(IDK what they are really called, the pins that go into the caliper mounting bracket, that the caliper is bolted to with 15 mm bolts. thanks for any ideas.
