Battery voltage

I had been disconnecting my negative battery cable as the car not being driven, and would put on trickle charger once in a while.

Tuesday checked voltage 12.6 without battery cable hooked up, drove car, just went out and battery voltage is 12.2 with cable still hooked up.

Is the reading different if negative cable is hooked up, or did something in the car draw the voltage down from my Tuesday night drive to today?

Have it trickle charging now.

Seams as there is a drag on bat just sitting there minding no business at all... That's why we trickle sitting doing nothing.... Trickle trickle trickle keeps the doc away!

Disconnect the battery and load test it. Maybe time for a new one. I recommend Walmart, you will get change from your $100 and three years or more of service.

How long of a drive did you take? It takes a little time for them to recharge.

About an hour, most of it highway speeds, but some in town.

Battery voltage was 12.6 before hooking up negative battery cable, and it had not been trickle charged for over a month, so I was really impressed thinking it was perfect.
