NEW VETTE! ABS/Traction Light On Dash
I've heard a low battery can cause issues so I did hook up a charger yesterday and sure enough it was below 10%. Did not fix any lights on the dash.
Here are the codes I took off of the diagnostic:
A6-SCM B2860 H (looks to be memory seat position issue, so no big deal)
58-SDM U1040 H C
10-PCM P1571 H C
99-HVAC B0441 H (there is no AC in the car, so I probably just need to recharge the AC system)
99-HVAC B0361 H (" " ")
How the Plug comes disconnected on its own I have no idea as the safety clip seams to lock fine to me.
I seriously have found my wiring to my Hubs bad causing this problem Speedy007 is directing you to the EBCM modual right off the bat without any trouble shooting.
This is a very expensive module to to have repaired or replaced,
Their are however many videos and online web forums with repairs for it listed on this web sight as well as others and U tube as well their is also an online web sight that offers repair service for it if needed.
I simply offered real world experience with the problem and NOT the "Your module is bad repair or replace it" Nor did I give a Smart *** reply! This web sight is bad about accepting smart asses that offer no real world experience repairing stuff they just Parrot what they have heard or read OR PAID for writing checks or using Credit cards.
The Corvette world is FULL of these types no matter were you go very few actually know how to fix anything themselves they always break out the check book or the plastic.
With all problems trouble shooting needs to be done first! eliminate the easy cheap stuff first and go from their. good luck my friend.

By the way Dudley the ecbm is located under the passenger foot well and no one mentioned that in any post please get your geography right. People don’t know the difference bxt a traction control module and a electronic body control module these days ..
Hence he could have a bad abs sensor or abs module .. it’s all about starting from easiest to hardest. There’s also a sensor on the trans that could also be the culprit .
Personally I would check the center console wires 1st . Clean the maf and tb out just to ensure it’s not sticking … Fire it it up .. then move on to a proper diagnostic shop if I couldn’t find what’s happening.. and go to the dealer
Hey if it so happens the trac control is bad that part is so easy to change out and will cost ya maybe 25 bucks at a scrap yard
As for your a/c issue probably just change the valves there what 2 bucks
Anyways to sum the issue on what your looking for on the pcm code is a open circuit that’s either a bad module or open wire there’s not in between good luck of ya need help we are here

I have a 1998 C5 Vert that is giving me the traction control / abs warning. The car has 43,000 on it, sat for ± 6 years, the code is C1232, no others, what is odd to me is that I can drive the car for an indefinite time under 35 MPH and then as soon as I go over 35 the warning pops up, I have skid tested and the ABS appears to be working even though the light is on. If I shutdown and restart the code is gone and I get code H1232. What I've done so far is clean up the mess from a leaking battery, cleaned the wiring harness and checked all of the connectors on the computers, there was no corrosion to any of the wiring or connectors. I replaced the connector harness to the wheel speed sensor, cleaned all of the grounds on the chassis, disassembled the ground packs and cleaned them. I tested the voltage coming from the wheel speed sensor, it appears to be in normal range. Other than this issue this car is very clean, I'm hoping it's not the ecbm! Any help is appreciated.
Mike
Thanks for the info! I did find out my battery was shot so I bought a new one and some of the codes did go away; however, the main ones stayed. Here is the new list of codes I have...

28-TCS No Comm
58-SDM U1040 HC
A1-RDCM B2265 H
A6-SCM B2860 H
