Default G5 cam

Who makes the "G5" cam and a description of its characteristics and applicatons. I have Blackwing, Stingers, Ported Throttle Body, Vortex Power Duct, UD pulley, NGK's and LGM long Tube Headers. Heads and Cam are next. Goal is about 425 RWHP. Daily driver that will not be taken to the track. Cats to stay. Cam Suggestions??? :chevy

It's custom ground cam via Comp Cams with the specs supplied by LGM. It's a highly confidential cam. There are a few members here with the cam, ie. RoLiO , send him an IM.

Talk to Lou at LGM. The G5 is an awesome package especially since you already have his headers. With your mods the G5 h/c will easily get you over 425 rwhp and you will have a good amount more torque than most packages out there.

I just had LGM swap out my heads recently(installed the cam myself). I have the G5 package EXCLUDING the LG headers. On the dyno they managed to get 421 rwhp and 390 rwtq on my LS1 WITH the TPIS headers. If I ever get enough $$ again I will order Lou's headers. Those guys are great to deal with and the install is top notch..

What heads did you put on? LG installed G5 in mine earlier this year and have been extremely happy with it. Also have the TPIS tubes.

Put on the LS6 heads you'll get a little more airflow.Have had the G5 on my A4 for a little more than a year, have had zero problems, and she makes lots of power.

I just went with LS1 heads(IMO I couldn't justiy spending $600 extra per head for a mere 10hp or 15hp that the LS6 puts out). I'll enjoy this for few years and in the mean time I will start building a bigger motor with all forged internals.. :D

It's a waste of a 112 lsa cam to restrict the airflow with ls1 heads, when you can put LG's ls6 heads(ported and polished) and flowing the kind of #'s required to feed that big cam and get the most out of it!Why short yourself and the motor, when you can do things right. And do what Lou intended when he came up with this setup!!!

Lou designed the package around LS1 one heads. Look at his sight:
http://www.lgmotorsports.com/catalog...=engine&car=c5

I don't think I'm shorting myself of anything. I had talked with a member here on the forum that everyone knows (I won't mention his name) and has had 2 of his vehicles worked on by Lou. This person even recommend for me to go with LS1 heads because the LS6 isn't worth the $$ for the few extra ponies.. Even Lou was ecstatic when he saw the dyno numbers. Yes, maybe I am shorting myself of few extra HP's, but $1200 is money I need for a new clutch. The power is no good if you can't get it to the ground..

You do not need to take me to school,I was one of the original G5 cars and the FIRST A4.If you want to take the G5 to it's full potential and use everything the cam can give you,the LS6 heads will flow better than Ls1 heads.Even when both are ported esp. when you put in 2.02/1.60 valves like I have it is worth the money to ME. :yesnod:

Can you post any #s, XKR100, since you have a very similar setup to what I am planning. Also, GREAT paint job. I tried to look up the "Paintwurx" site that you mention in your signature, but didn't have much luck. Any more Pics?
