Maybe the panel screen is dirty, Maybe the location on the windshield is too low and needs to be raised, Maybe the dimmer is too dim?

Start by turning the ignition on when it's dark at night and looking down into the unit through the windshield. If you can see the blue-green glow, then the support pin/bushing has likely failed. Cheap fix if so, but you have to pull the dash out to do it.

It's a common issue. I had it happen to mine. The repair has held up for years now.

Plenty of guides out there and after watching you'll see its a real pain to get to in order to fix it.

However, I purchased mine with the HUD broken too. Now that I went in and fixed it I really wish I would've done it sooner its awesome. Definitely worth the hassle.

Yeah, the HUD is awesome. I wish I had one in my SUV as well. Once you have one, it will spoil you forever.

That's what's wrong with mine. It gets done on Monday. I was quoted 4 hours for the repair by a buddy that repairs Corvettes. He's also fixing my dim HVAC and some burned out bulbs in it.

First thing first. Use the Up/Down switch to change it's position on the windshield. My wife drove mine recently and had adjusted the HUD. I got in and couldn't see it and immediately thought it had failed.

I just had to adjust it to my viewing angle.

$400 later, I have my HUD back and my HVAC brightness restored. It took less than a day for the repair.

The whole car. The gentleman is local to me.
I dropped it off, he took the dash out , put new pins in the HUD and re-aligned it. then put everything back together.
He also took apart my HVAC display and re-soldered the chips.
I went back the next day and picked the car up. All nice and neat.
