It’s happened three times this year since it took it out of storage. I’ll be in a parking lot and start it up with no problem, then slowly drive to leave. Then it just stalls while I’m moving at those slow parking lot speeds. Starts right back up and then no problems. No codes.
Any ideas what the problem might be? Seems to idle OK.
When an ignition switch starts to go bad because of burned internal contacts and a symptom appears, like suddenly dying or the DIC going nuts with a large number of faults ( low voltage, service active handling, reduced power and others), shutting down the engine and turning the key off completely will sometimes allow a restart and normal engine run with no faults or codes showing. As the switch gets progressively worse, restarts become more erratic in clearing faults.
My 2001 car is on its third ignition switch. The original lasted until 2010, the replacement lasted from 2010 to 2013 and the current switch has been in service since then, another nine years, all GM switches.
