I own a 2000 c5 Hatch Back with 45,000 original miles. I had a private mechanic replace the original stereo unit with a blue
tooth radio. Problem is, as I later found out, the stereo is somewhat connected to the car security system, so after the new stereo was installed I would start the car, put in Drive, the car would roll forward (steering wheel not locked) and it would shut off. I feel this mechanic
that replaced the stereo didn’t re-connect it correctly and its thinking the stereo was stolen and the security part kicks in. Has anyone had this kind of problem? If so pls let me know. Don’t want to drive it because I don’t want to get stuck in the middle of the road somewhere.
Thank You
Ralph
I saw a video on youtube from Drive Hub and at about the 16 minute mark he talks about two red wires on the Axxess interface unit that should not be connected.

You do use the red wires on the Axxess if you want to have the retained accessory power feature. You just can't connect the red wires of the Axxess to the C5 accessory power wire, like the guy in the video, because then you are back feeding voltage into the electrical system when you turn the key off. Which is maybe not a good idea.
