Cranking compression....

Anyone ever check cranking compression after installing a set of high compression heads and cam? What were the pressures?

I've tested several cars.. they tend to run 155-165 on stock bottom end vette's.. My stroker, which runs quite a bit higher compression, is in the 190-200 range..

While raising the compression ratio with the heads increases the compression pressure, the more radical the cam the lower the compression pressure. Since you have a 110 LSA, I would think that it has a significant amount of overlap and the more overlap the less compression pressure.

I think the key thing to look for is that the compression pressure is pretty much even cylinder to cylinder.

Won't his intake centerline also effect his crank comp, ie straight up ,advanced or retarded?? :cool: :cheers: :steering:
