DRL not working (manual switch only)
This is on a 2003 corvette c5 base.
I am having an issue after tinkering with my lights and I am wondering if anybody has an idea of what could be wrong.
First I would like to mention that everything on the car is led, and the issue started because I put in my own LED taillights that pulled too little current, damaged something, and now even when I put back on the taillights I had before, the issue persists. Aka something is messed up, and it was caused by the low current, but now even with a previously working setup, it is still messed up.
All fuses have been checked, none are broken.
The issue has the same effects as when the DRL fuse in the passenger fuse box blows, where all the drl lights stop working and the dash backlight stops working and the foglights stop working. However, that fuse is NOT blown.
All of the lights do work, and I know this because if I turn on twilight mode in the dash, everything works just fine. The issue is that the DRL lights will now turn on when twilight mode is off and I try to turn them on with the steering wheel column (middle position and top position). Headlights still work at top position.
An interesting effect worth mentioning is that if I do my headlights in this order, the drl's will slightly glow for half a second before cutting out:
Turn on headlight -> turn on brights-> turn down to center position on brights -> turn off brights, still in center position (notice at this point, DRL's should be on, but nothing is on). Turn off drl to lowest position (notice that the drl lights briefly turn on and fade out when switched to off).
Here is a video of the described behavior above:
I assume something is messed up on the same circuit as the fuse, but I'm not sure where to look! Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
~ Tyler
Thanks for the suggestion but all of the fuses are fine. I double checked though for you and fuse #2 is ok. I even swapped it with the oxygen sensor fuse right next to it in case maybe it was bad, but still not fixed.
Thanks,
Tyler
sorry for the late reply. Yes, everything works correctly. The only thing I have noticed is possibly my fog lights have stopped working, but the button internally still works. Although I don't know if this was the issue. I swapped out my led fog lights back with the OEM ones and those are the ones now not working.
On with the Light Switch On. Twilight Sentinel turns On the Parking Lights, not the DRLs. Turning On the Parking Lights disables the DRLs.
The DRLs and the Turn Signals are on the high wattage filament of the 3157 Amber Bulb and the Parking Light is on the low wattage filament along with the 194 Corner Bulb.
Do the 194 Corner Bulbs work correctly with the Parking Lights On?

The #9 wire gets power thru the Multi Turn Signal Lever Switch, manually, or the Twilight Sent Relay (ALC PRK LP #43), automatically.
The front Park Lights get power on their own feeds D12 and E12 in the Underhood Fuse Block, and grounds on D and C on the SP102 Splice Pack.
For both front lights to not work, would require two problems, as they are independently wired from the same buss.
For them to work with the Twilight Sent, but not the Multi Switch, shows that their wiring is good.
I can not see any way this could happen, unless there has been some wiring change to the schematic.
If you do find the problem, please let me know the outcome.

I detailed it in the video, but if you look at this image you can see this pin is corroded. It was having resistance when it shouldnt have. That is why there was still a little bit of light on my very low drawing taillights and no light anywhere else. Makes sense that if the switch is the only part that doesn't work, it was the part that was broke! Even if it didn't seem like it should have been the part to fail, somehow it did.
