Drivers door does not lock all the time

Does anybody have the problem where the drivers door does not lock all the time? Is it something correctable by lubrication, or do I need to change the solenoid?

Eric, with all the problems your car is having... are you sure you didnt buy a lemon? Is there some way you could take the VIN # and check it out. Honestly, I have not seen anyone buy a used car and have the problems you are having.

I dont have good luck in general. My last car, a 97 Nissan Maxima (rated in Cons. Reports as one of the most reliable vehicles) blew its transmission 3 times, had a leaky rear main seal, dead crankshaft position sensor, and a few other problems I'm sure I forgot about.

With this car, this stuff is pretty trivial so far. I've had:
Exhaust break (no HUGE deal)
glass top leaks (the pass. window is loose, probbly from a window closer) but i put on the body color one and it seems much better
rear defroster doesnt all work- again no big deal
and now-the driver door lock. Hopefully it isnt anything huge.

I carfax'd the car and its clean, and it doesnt appear wrecked either.

I also expected these kinds of problems too, I mean no offense it is a Chevy.

Had that sort of problem on my 99. GM replaced the door lock module and no problem now.

Had the same problem on my 2001 the dealer replaced the door switch....every thing is fine now.

I had that problem with the driver door lock last summer, finally it didn't work at all except with a key. At the same time that it stopped working the door aquired a lite rattle. I took the door panel off and discovered the clip on the linkage rod came off and the rod became disconnected.

Found the clip (undamaged) in the bottom of the door. Put the rod back in position with the old clip and all is well.

Sometimes mine won't open without the key while the passenger door works fine, it can be very irritating as it seems to pick very inconvinient times to do so.
