Car pulls great and everything is smooth, thinking about swapping Trans fluids out for recline. But when accelerating mostly above 3k rpms there's a vibration or rattling sound coming from the center console. 2001 m6. I've heard some vibration is normal but wasn't sure how much is?
I had a friend with an aftermarket shifter who had the same issue.. changed shifters and it was perfect. Can’t quite remember what shifter he initially had though, but his car shifted and drove great aside from the rattle

Probably your shifter box, doesn't matter how many miles are on the car. The factory lower box gets sloppy quickly, I can rebuilt it if you want, it will make any shifter feel much better and it will sty nice and tight for the life of the car.

Does the noise go away if your hand is on the shifter then it could also be the insulators on the shifter box zip sells polyurethane replacement relatively cheap. This fixed mine years ago.
Yes in fact it does if I keep my hand on the shifter. Any chance you have a part number or link on zip? About to look and see if I can find it.
