New Jersey has some strict emission tests for our cars so I was wondering if adding a Blackwing to improve air flow would impact that test. Does anyone know the impact of improved air flow on emissions???
Re: Improved Breathing's effect on NJ Emissions? (BLACK BEAUTY)
Haven't taken the C5 yet, but my '66 Vert has regular tags and has to go through. So far it is 2 for 2, passing emissions easily (despite the 327 with aftermarket cam). My daily driver is a Jeep with a K&N Filtercharger, offroad Jet chip, Borla header, Flowmaster exhaust and a bunch of other mods and it passed last Saturday no problem. Your C5 will be fine.

My 98 passed with a Donaldson filter on it.
After my first inspection, at the Randolph, NJ station, I decided to go to a private facility the next time. I took it to STS in Chester, and highly recommend them. They were VERY careful with the car (I watched), with one guy laying on the ground watching as another slowly drove it onto their dyno tester, to make sure nothing on the car hit anything on a lift which is in the same bay. If I recall, cost was $60; well worth it to avoid the trained seals at the state facilities.

I got mine through inspection at Gearhart's Chevrolet in Denville with no problems. I have the Proflo+ intake and the mods below. It passed both times I had to go through.
