Blue Driver (OBD-II reader) Issues
I bought a Blue Driver OBD II code reader because it looked like a useful tool that reported trouble codes and came up with recommended solutions . However, when I used it on my 2003 C5, after a brief period, I heard a loud POP through my radio, and the clock reset itself to 12:00. I don't want to exacerbate the rather delicate electronics in this car, so I'm not likely to continue using it. Anyone else use this device? Any issues with using it on the C5? It's out of warranty so I can't send it back, but I might use it on other family vehicles if my experience on my Vette is a fluke.

I use the Blue Driver OBDII code reader on my 2003 Z and have had no issues. I do not keep it plugged in; I only plug it in if reading a code.
The benefit to using this device is not just to get the codes and reset them (which is easily done through the DIC) but if you do have a code, it spells out in clear language, the most probably reasons for the code. If the code suggests a component failure, Blue Driver will actually give you the part number of the module its database has shown to fix the problem as well as provide a link to Amazon to purchase this component. It's not perfect but it helps point you in the right direction IMO.
