Happened finally on my 01Z. Have the LMC5 with unlocker but the unlocker is not working after many tries. Continued with the install to get the car back in the garage. Good news is the dash warning is gone. If I can just get that dam wheel unlocked !!
Maybe trickle charge overnight and try again, not sure if battery voltage matters now you have the LMC5 installed, but couldn’t hurt to try.
Last time I got stuck summer 2018 at theater, had gf pick me up, pulled battery and took home and charged, it was weak from not driving much.
Went back about 1:30 am hoping nothing happened to my car, had to get wild with steering wheel and kept pulling key and turning back to on, got it broke free, parked car in garage and didn’t drive again until LMC5 installed.
A new battery doesn't necessarily mean a fully-charged battery.
Even if the new battery were fully-charged it can easily lose a significant amount of charge over two months if, for instance, you're dealing with a parasitic drain.
At the very least check your battery voltage at its terminals with a volt meter.
The column locked on my 2000 Corvette.. After a few hours wasted trying to break it loose, I just started to take the column apart. I spent about 2 1/2 hours to get to the pin module and determined that the module was shot. I took the module (just a few metal parts) apart and threw the pin away. Two hours later everything was back together (except for the troublesome pin). Problem permanently fixed.
