Hurst short throw shifter / Tick ball

Hurst short throw shifter / Tick ball
Has anyone put a Tick Performance ball on a Hurst short throw shifter? The Tick ball has a larger diameter .582 opening than the Hurst stick .560 O.D.. I do not know the thread pitch of either.
I have a C6 shifter in the car now, I can put the C6 **** on the Hurst shifter with a firm smack downward with my hand. It feels sturdy, but I track my car and do not want it coming loose.
The C6 **** is good, but I got the Tick ball when I bought their conversion kit when I swapped my vette to manual.
