Procedure for Gas Filler Neck Relocation

When I began to consider getting wide body real panels, I remembered once seeing a C5 without the gas filler door. I was able to hunt down the original procedure and then I modified it somewhat. I decided to tackle this project BEFORE putting the wide body quarter panels on so as to only have the driver's side painted once. I like how the curves of the C5 and the wide body are no longer interrupted by the gas filler door.

Clever concept and good execution, but I wouldnt want any accidental fuel spray, or fumes, getting into the interior.

I remember seeing this mod on a black wide body C5 and thought it was cool then and still do. Not something I’m likely to do but I appreciate the info and links. You car looks great.
