Hello all, I have a 1997 C5 with 105,000 miles. The other morning I had to jump my car off with a jumper box and then drove it to work. A few hours after, I went out to try and start it and it wouldn’t start. So I went and bought a battery and swapped it out. Now it will not crank. I have PCM codes 1518 and P0601along with the reduced engine power and TCS so I searched the forum and saw where it’s commonly the ignition switch. I pulled it and sanded down the contacts (there were some arcing on each contact) and I still can’t get it to start. Also when I put the key in the ignition, most of my interior lights flicker and I can hear relays making noise.
Very unlikely that your PCM has failed, flickering lights and relays making noises is usually a sign of a under voltage condition. Inspect the negaive connection from the battery to the car it is located under the battery, inspect all your battery cable connections and take a meter and measure across the battery terminals, should be around 12.5 volts.
Is there any way to clear this PCM code? I’ve tried disconnecting the battery and even holding the positive and negative terminals together after and it comes back every time

It will probably clear after the PCM is replaced…other DTC’s such as for your SRS are the same way if set.
