Hey, I have a 2000 Z51 and I recently “lost” part of the front emblem. Can the missing piece be purchased and replaced or must I replace entire emblem???

GM part # 19207384. You need to buy the whole piece. The GM part is discontinued but can still be sourced for about $110 online. There are remakes that go for about $60-$70.
No, they aren't difficult to remove or replace. They are stuck on by an adhesive that you just peel the backing from. On the GM one (I don't have experience with the remakes) there are two guide nipples that you insert into two existing plug holes in the bumper for straight alignment.
I used fishing line to remove the old one. Then used vinegar or WD40 and a micro fibre towel to remove old residue from the former adhesive. Then wiped with alcohol prior to installing the new one.
