Default Halo Weatherstrip

Does ANYONE make a half decent reproduction weather strip for the halo? I believe I've read the OEM is discontinued, and is unobtanium. The last aftermarket one I bought lasted a couple years, but is coming apart.

Ive dealt with halo strips a lot in the past. My recommendation would be to find one that is good condition on a wrecked car. The only part that is glued down is the corners. If you heat it up enough it will come off nicely.

So I'm guessing there's STILL no one that makes an acceptable one? My targa seals are on borrowed time as well. How is no one making these?

How's the construction? Is it multiple pieces glued together like most of the cheap ones?

I replaced mine 2 years ago with one from corvette rubber and it's done well. But they're targa seals are garbage. I had one start to disintegrate within a couple months & I installed them the same time as my halo seal.

Sounds like Corvette Rubber may be my best bet. Hopefully specializing the corvettes...they at least try to get it right.

One piece and it looked good to me. If the holes lined up I would have been content...

Alright, well I gave it a shot and ordered. Also got their targa seals since the one I replaced has the same crappy multiple piece glued together construction, so it's bound to fail soon.

Pulled the top yesterday chasing a leak, and found a gaping hole common to the driver's side corner -- hardly a surprise. Do please let us know what you find with the Corvette Rubber piece. I suspect I'll get one on order this evening, but would be nice to hear it works for several people.

I got sidetracked by my starter taking a ****. The weatherstrip is still on my "to do" parts shelf. I will say, they LOOK way nicer than the other brands I've used, and are 1 piece construction.

Any update on this? Looking for a half decent aftermarket halo weatherstrip myself.

It fit pretty well for me. Not OEM quality, and a bit stiffer than OEM, but seems better than other brands I've tried. At least it wasn't 3 pieces shoddily glued together like some.

Do you have a link to the direct product? Its the top seal that you can see from the top of vehicle behind targa top and rear sail panel or top that seals targa top? it goes all the way around the full length of the targa top rear side correct and whats seen on the outside of the vehicle? Mine has a 2" tear on one side and looking to replace it soon.
Whats it call the halo weatherstrip or targa top weather strip? Targa top weatherstrip is on the underside that the targa sets on and halo is the outside looking 1/4" smushed seal? Or is it all one piece.

Thanks.

This is the strip that goes behind the targa across the car and behind the side windows. I don't have the link, but it was easy to find through google.

Its called the halo strip or rear targa top weather stripping? May i ask is it all one piece that inserts in the rail grooves under the targa top seals the rear side and u shape downwards seals the rear side of door glass all one piece? Is the same one piece seal thats seen from outside top of the vehicle?

Its the one piece seal at the front of this pic goes under rear or targa top and is seen about 1/4" from top outside the vehicles? Thanks im looking for one too mine has a 2" tear? Its not a multiple piece seal design correct? I noticed raining the passenger rear side before it turns down was dripping barely so may need replacement.

Hey its a one piece seal and is that thick 1" rubber seal at rear of windows seal to when rolled up and go all the way around the top and seen from outside of the vehicle behind targa top?

Is the one you bought the only one they manufacture for these vehicles?
Hey may i ask did you paint or put a gloss black top or buy an alternate glass targa top? Yours looks pretty cool. You got forgestar f14s? Are they 17x10.5 +65mm offset and are they close to hitting the inner fender when jacked up wheels hanging? Forgestar Wheels USA F17270563P65 Forgestar F14 Drag Matte Black Wheels | Summit Racing

The c5 base and z06 have the same control arm geometry correct to where the same offset wheels on either vehicle will fit the same on either base or z06 model?
