Default Multiple Comm Error Codes

My dad has a 2002 C5. Many things stopped working all of the sudden and now the car starts and then dies immediately. Below are the codes. Any ideas as to what happened?

You have a serial data bus issue there…open the drivers door and shake that rubber boot between the door and the pillar…there is a driver door module connector there that may have a bad connection either a power or a ground…if that doesn’t work report back !!

Thank you for the reply C5 Diag. We removed the comb as described in the video and that allowed the car to start and run. Now we need to determine which module/circuit has the problem. Thank you very much! My dad is a good mechnic so I am sure he will figure this out now that you set us on the right path.

Great !!…if it was the 4 wire “comb” which he probably removed (if it were the other one the car still wouldn’t have started) it might be the driver door module which is the brown wire (pin C) at the splice pack….take your voltmeter and see if you have 12 volts or a ground on that wire…if the data wire is good without a scope you will only see a fluxuating voltage of .2 to .3 volts key on and not 7…if it is that wire it’s probably the connector inside that boot coming from that door module….look for damaged pins, corrosion or pin fitment there.

The problem wire is the brown/white wire that is off by itself and not next to the three close to each other. Is that for the passenger door?

No, the brown/white wire is the seat control module…I would check the connectors on it before condemning the module…did you see power or ground on it when checking at the splice pack ??…that brown/white

wire is Pin K at the opposite end from the purple wire.

Found the problem. The connector had fallen off of the seat control module and evidently it was touching the seat frame.

Thank you VERY much for your help!
