My brake booster has developed a vacuum leak and I am in the process of replacing it. I am having a hard time getting to the 4 mounting nuts under the dash to remove them from the old booster. Has anyone done this and have some advice?
TIA.
I managed to get the old one out. Removed the knee bolster and left side metal dash brace and using 30 inches of extensions managed to get all 4 nuts off. The hardest is hidden by the clutch pedal bracket. If your car is an automatic it will be much easier.
Then spent 30 minutes wrestling the booster off of the firewall. The master cylinder also needs to be replaced. When the booster develops a vacuum leak it damages the master cylinder, and if the master cylinder is leaking it damages the brake booster.
