Want to make the steering feel 10-20% lighter. I love that it's on the heavier side but it doesn't fully straighten out in time when I turn which is something I want the car to do.
I don't want to invest too much money into this & don't want the factory feel of steering to go away, again I just want it to be slightly later.
What trade-offs are you prepared to accept? For example if you could make the steering 10% lighter but increase tire wear by 60% is this acceptable?
You say you don't want to invest "too much money". Is that $5 or $5 million?
What is your application? Daily driver, autocross, weekend race track performance?
Toe is not going to affect the way the steering returns to center. There is either an alignment issue or a mechanical issue with the car. Reducing steering effort is not the answer here.
There’s a place that rebuilds the steering rack that seems popular here, but can’t recall the name at the moment. Try the search and see if you can find
Try the link below. They make all kind of parts for our RP, maybe they can help you.
