Wtf is this random spring stuck inside my ignition?
Ive had electrical issues so I removed my ignition to clean the contacts, as I removed the metal key insertion piece from the rest a metal piece and spring flew at me, thankfully I found where they landed as shown in the second picture.
I mention that because there is spring stuck to one of the ignition contacts, stuck hard that I found after removing the green plastic piece from ignition. I wanted to confirm its not suppose to be there? Where did this tiny spring come from? I looked at other pics and videos and none have them. So I guess Ill rip it off? Could it be related to the spring that shot at me? Looks a lot like it.
Putting the key slot back on was a bitch, it would not go all way in, had to press turn it all the way with a screw driver inside the empty shaft then hold a pin down in the back so the metal key slot thing would alin and fit all the way in.
I pulled the spring and it kept coming out, so I just cut it off lol
I also noticed in other videos upon the first first turn of the key that pin with the spring is suppose to go down, mine was locked in placed never moved no matter where the key was turned, learned a lot today.
I will be buying a new started and will be driving my car with a missing interior till then, the only button I dont have is the gas tank lid opener. Seems like installing a new one is pretty easy now that the car is opened up.
