Metallic-type clunk under shifter area
A random metallic clunking sound has appeared over the past two weeks and I cannot find a way to reproduce it yet. It sounds as if it's under the shifter area, so I removed the center console parts and the shifter plate and don't see anything loose. I put it up on the lift and the exhaust and torque tube cover plate all seem to be solid. It's happened while driving regardless of what gear I'm in and I've heard it at idle. When it does occur, I don't feel it in the shifter or the pedals or steering wheel. I've tried doing sharp left-right-left-right while driving as well as hard pulsed braking to get it to occur, but no joy. I may have to set up a GoPro to just record while driving since it's so random and infrequent. Any ideas on where to start looking?
