This weekend I was loading the car in the trailer and noticed my passenger LED front marker bulb was not working. I had another brand/type laying around and quickly changed it out. Lights came on so I thought it was good, so off I went. At the track saturday morning I start the car and notice ALL the lights on the car go into some sort of pace car party mode and strobe rapidly. Dash lights, radio, climate control, all exterior lights are all strobing. I notice the passenger front marker is out again. The socket looks kinda dark/burnt ish but the contacts in the socket still look good. When I turn the parking lights on the strobing goes away but the marker light is still out and the passenger indicator light on the dash stays on. Would this be caused by the bad socket?? Or just another bad bulb? Ive had LEDs in the front for almost 2 years with a hyperflash relay so they have been working well until now. Before I go buy new sockets and bulbs I want see if anyone else has had this issue and its not something else.
So yesterday I threw a regular incandescent 3157 bulb in the socket and the strobing stopped. Looks like the socket is fine and I just need another LED bulb. Is this normal behavior for when a bulb goes out, or does it have something to do with the low resistance flasher relay and LEDs?
